I took some photographs of inversions on Lake Windermere from our guest house in Bowness-on-Windermere and thought I would share them here with you. These shots were taken from guest rooms at our AA 4-Star B&B, Blenheim Lodge. Bowness-on-Windermere is located in the heart of the Lake District National Park.

This shot looks out over Old Bowness village and to the fells and was taken from a bedroom at Blenheim Lodge B&B. The inversion over Widnermere is clear seen sitting at what looks like the foot of the fells - but isn't - as the fells are further inland.

We are blessed with magnificent views of Lake and fells from our B&B accommodation and these, coupled with the quiet tranquillity and easy 5-minute walk into Bowness village centre and Lake Windermere itself makes Blenheim Lodge B&B a wonderful place to relax in homely comfort.

A tranquil outlook from The Attic bedroom at Blenheim Lodge B&B: Lake Windermere lies still and serene as the last mists of an inversion disperses.

As for anyone who enjoys walks and viewpoints, The Dales Way which traverses acres of unspoilt fell to four viewpoints with panoramic and 360-degree views is a literal 1-minute stroll from our front door! The closest major viewpoint is 10 minute’s walk from our B&B.

You can also see The Dales Way trail to the left of the photo if you look closely. The small hedge at the forefront of the photo separates Blenheim Lodge from the acres of beautiful National Trust land that border our back garden.
