Amenities & Info
Glorious Views
Come share our stunning views of Lake Windermere and the fells when you take a break at Blenheim Lodge Bed and Breakfast.
Free Parking On Premises
Guests have free use of our private on-site car park only during their stay with us.
Our Enviable Location
Set back from the main roads and quietly situated by walks and viewpoints, our B&B – ONLY 5-minute walk to Bowness town centre and the Lake – offers a peaceful haven from noisy traffic & crowds.
For Our Guests
Be our guest: make yourself comfortable in our lounge, where you can relax, chat, read, watch TV, nod off, even gaze across Old Bowness and the Lake to the mountains beyond. FREE WIFI is available (but not guaranteed due to our location).
Just For You
We are a friendly and approachable bunch here! So, NEVER feel shy about asking for assistance with organizing aspects of your break either before you arrive or when you are here – including transfers if required – and we will try our best to help.
Free Fishing On Windermere
Anglers staying with us are only a hop, skip and jump from England’s largest lake, Windermere. You may fish Windermere FREE! All you need is your rod licence.
Countryside Delights
Blenheim Lodge is a mere 5-minute walk into bustling Bowness. Yet we are so close to Nature that only our small leafy hedge separates us from fell acres. Our B&B literally nestles into Brantfell, where one may wander at will to expansive viewpoints. Look out for pastoral delights: lambs at play; sheep cropping; cows grazing. You might even catch glimpses of wild deer on the fell.
Travel Is Easy
Located in Bowness, Blenheim Lodge is a mile from Windermere Railway Station, a 5-minute bus or taxi ride away. Once in Bowness, everything is within easy walking distance, including Bowness Pier, where local ferries carry visitors to other places of interest on Windermere. From Bowness, a linked network of buses and boats, including a car ferry, makes it simple for visitors to tour around the Lake District. We can also organize return bespoke or minibus tours for our guests.

House Rules
Our home and B&B is for all our guests to enjoy. It offers a peaceful place to relax and unwind. The cardinal rule is to do unto others as you would have done unto you. To this end, we would ask all who visit with us to treat our house with respect, and consideration for everyone staying at Blenheim Lodge.
We want our guests to have a great time here with us – hence these very simple rules reflecting a very fundamental maxim.
There are few legal requirements we are obliged to comply with as a Bed and Breakfast:
- No smoking within our premises – not even smoking out of a window!
- We are unable to add additional persons of any age to the maximum number of bed spaces available in our rooms.
- Guests may not cook in our bedrooms.
- No naked flames (e.g. candles, lanterns, tea lights, etc.) are allowed on our premises.
In line with many local serviced accommodation providers, we ask our guests to respect the following requests:
- No hot or cooked takeaway food to be consumed in our B&B. (There are LOTS of places to eat 5 minutes’ walk from our door.)
- Please remember that many people come to Blenheim Lodge for a peaceful escape. Our house is located in a very quiet spot, where one can literally hear the proverbial pin drop! So please, when you are staying here, particularly if you return late to our B&B, be thoughtful of other people in the house too.
- Our car park and lounge are only for the use of guests who ARE staying with us – not for visiting friends or family.
- We have limited parking spaces for STAYING guests only. Should you wish to leave your vehicle in our car park after check out, please check with us first.
Damages
- PLEASE look after and leave our accommodation the way you would want to see and experience it when arriving for a break.
- However, we do understand that sometimes accidents can happen. Please be honest and let us know immediately should you damage or mark anything in your room or in the house so that we can deal with it immediately. (Stains are easier to remove when dealt with quickly.)
- If the damage cannot be repaired or stains removed by us, we will bring this to your attention and may charge you reparation or replacement costs.
Check in and Check out
- Check in is normally 4 p.m. and check out is 10 a.m.
- If you require an earlier or later check in, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
- We are happy to hold luggage for guests who have travelled to us by public transport. Simply check out as normal and return to pick up your luggage. We can also call a cab for you to take you to the train station.
