We have had such a fabulous November day today. It was warm, very sunny, and without a breath of wind. Then I watched the news and could hardly believe what I saw on television as much of the country suffered from severe fog or smog which was serious enough to ground airplanes. The air in the Lake District National Park is, of course, much cleaner than the air in the cities; and, indeed, one meteorological commentator pointed out that the heavy fog they were experiencing was partly due to local air pollution.

Meanwhile, let me share with you some photos of beautiful clear skies on this unseasonably warm November day.
