Taking coronavirus precautions
Covid-19 precautions are an ongoing thing right now as the whole world knows. As I was writing the previous sentence, WordPress suggested the following material change to my sentence instead: Covid-19 predations are an ongoing thing right now as the whole world knows. Put like this, the automatic editor on WordPress would seem to be correct! At Blenheim Lodge, we had put up our Covid-19 Precautions document some while back already on our website, and, as an accompaniment to it, had also uploaded information on our website regarding our new way of offering breakfasts to incoming guests.
Re-opening after lockdown
Lockdown as we know it in the Lake District National Park, where we are located in Cumbria, will end on 2nd December 2020. We do not yet know what the government’s intentions are regarding further restrictions after this date. However, if we are able to re-open, then we will do so with the necessary precautions as indicated.
Booking a stay at Blenheim Lodge
For guests who enjoy peaceful retreats, our Lake District Bed and Breakfast, Blenheim Lodge, would be a great choice! Our Lodge is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac upon a quiet fell top. Located in the village of Bowness on Windermere within the heart of the Lake District National Park, Blenheim Lodge is easily accessible by both public and private transport. Locally, there are lots of things to see and do, and many eateries to choose from for meals indoors or on the go. We also have an on-site private car park for the use of staying guests.
Stay with us
The best way of booking at Blenheim Lodge is to BOOK DIRECT. Doing this cuts out the middleman, that is, the online travel agents which often do NOT give potential guests all the information pertaining to a stay at our guesthouse. Often, their platforms will also advertise higher rates than what we ourselves are offering on our own website. For instance, all our rates include breakfast when people book on our own website or phone us to book; however, Expedia rates do NOT include breakfast.
When guests book direct with us, it means that up to 50 percent of the payment made for their stay does NOT go to the online travel agents and taxes. This means that there is a savings for both us and our guests, as these booking sites also charge more to guests who book on their sites.

Availability
Blenheim Lodge will re-open when we can do so safely according to government guidelines. We will not break the rules. We also expect all who stay with us to adhere to UK government advice on keeping both themselves and others as safe as possible from the coronavirus.

Book now for later! Our Bowness guest house has good availability for all room types: double, single, twin and triple accommodation. Each bedroom is individually furnished so that no two are alike – just like the way we have in our own homes.
We have 10 bedrooms with shower en-suites and one with a private bathroom comprising a deep clawfoot slipper bath and attached handheld shower. All our rooms are characterful, and offer amazing views of Lake Windermere and the fells. More information can be found about each of our bedrooms on our website.
Booking Policy
We know that times are uncertain just now, and thus we introduced a very generous booking policy for the benefit of guests who book directly with us either on our website or through our own booking platform. For more details, please click here. Thus far, we have had a number of people taking advantage of this policy which offers the ability to re-book accommodation at our Bowness on Windermere Bed and Breakfast without incurring cancellation fees or charges. Guests simply pay the difference in price between what they had paid previously and the current tariff if they are keeping to their original room choice, or if they upgrade their rooms.
