Hi Everyone!
I hope this little note finds you all doing well. It’s been tough for many people over the past months, but many countries are now coming out of lockdown to that light beyond the tunnel. In England, the go ahead for re-opening guest accommodation is now 4th July. At Blenheim Lodge, we have decided to re-open on 7th July instead.
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
There has been much preparation for re-opening Blenheim Lodge.
First of all, we wanted to ensure that our guests will feel confident about the steps we are taking to keep us all as safe as possible at our Lake District Bed and Breakfast. To this end, we have published a set of protocols on our website for guests to read: https://www.blenheim-lodge.com/covid-19/. The protocols cover salient points such as:
- Social Distancing
- Cleaning
- Room Servicing
- Breakfasts
- Other Precautions
We have also written out a new Temporary Breakfast Menu which takes into consideration the protocols set out in our Covid-19 Precautions document. This menu allows for easier social distancing within our guesthouse.
GOING OUT
The countryside which constitutes the Lake District National Park will be fully open to visitors come 4th July. Visitors can explore this beautiful environment, but are encouraged as always to know their own limits when walking the fells or even swimming the lakes and tarns. This is important in case anyone gets into difficulties – but it is especially crucial now because it means that rescuers will need to put their own lives in danger not only to save anyone in trouble, but also be made open to the risk of catching the virus.
Nonetheless, there are truly lovely places to visit in the Lakes which are suitable for all abilities. Many have well-marked trails, and even paved footpaths. Others are a little more rugged or very much more difficult for the less experienced to attempt. All these places are scenic, stunning, and exciting to explore, but please just ensure that you are well aware of your own limitations and turn back if you must. There is nothing shameful about the latter. It takes self-integrity and a deep caring within for others to do that.
FOOD
Teashops, cafes, pubs and restaurants will be re-opening too on 4th July. However, we have decided to offer our guests the option of buying a packed lunch from us for the first time in all the 18 years that we have been at Blenheim Lodge. We thought that this would give our guests the option of whether they would prefer to practise social distancing as much as possible and to NOT enter busy eateries for meals or crowded shops to buy take-out food.
Guests may buy a take-out lunch from us from the options on our Temporary Breakfast Menu. All we require is 48 hours notice. For all those guests who are going out and about to enjoy activities and wish to eat on the go, then our take-out lunch option may be a good choice.
SPECIAL OFFERS
We have set up a number of Special Offers on our website. These include both short and longer stays, as well as great deals for the August Bank Holiday long weekend. Most importantly, we have updated our Terms of Booking to include a “Coronavirus Update” so that everyone can book accommodation at Blenheim Lodge safe in the knowledge that we will honour changes to their dates up to the end of 2022.
We believe that our new terms of booking are more than fair-minded and hope that these will give our guests peace of mind when making their bookings with us at Blenheim Lodge. We can take bookings over the telephone on 00 44 (0)15394 43440 or guests may click here to book online on our website.
NOTE:
Our Special Offers, Best Prices, and these very generous Terms of Booking are ONLY available to guests who BOOK DIRECT with us at Blenheim Lodge. When guests book through OTAs such as Airbnb and Expedia, we are limited to their terms of booking and those terms of booking will apply.
