Now picture the two of you on one of the ferries that crisscross Windermere. Head out to Lakeside on a passenger ferry, where the motor enthusiast in you will just love the collection of vehicles showcasing over a century of motoring heritage and memorabilia. Do you like exploring nearby towns and villages, popping into local shops and cafes where you can simply relax and absorb the friendly charm of Lakeland life? Perhaps you enjoy driving through pulchritudinous countryside to admire Lakeland’s wondrous landscapes. The Lake District has well connected road links but if you prefer not to drive, we can arrange tours, both private and shared, for you. The tour guide will pick you up from our door at Blenheim Lodge and drop you back here at the end of your tour.

Within a couple of minutes’ walk from our door are cafes, tea rooms, bistros, pubs and restaurants which cater to the many different culinary tastes of visitors and locals alike. Fancy a homestyle meal or fine dining? No problem! Take a short walk to Lake Raj or Porto – just two examples of restaurants in Bowness – just down the street for us and enjoy your New Year dinner there. Most eateries will be open over New Year, and we can help you with making table reservations.
