What a gorgeous November day it is today in Bowness-on-Windermere! After a lot of rain in the Lake District, we are now embracing bright skies with lots of sunshine, no fear of precipitation from the looks of things, high fells picturesquely topped with snow, but nothing lower down or on the ground. Here are a couple of photos I took this morning from our house, Blenheim Lodge B&B.
Of course this weather will be absolutely fantastic for watching the Grizedale Stages Rally and enjoying the Ambleside Lantern Parade when Christmas lights will also be switched on. However, it is also an absolutely perfect day for exploring our beautiful Lake District National Park with the skies lending such extraordinary visibility. Imagine being able to gaze far and wide from almost any viewpoint.
The photo below of Brantfell viewpoint was not shot today and shows a more hazy sky. However, it does give a good idea of how much one can see even when the atmosphere isn’t as clear as it is today.
