New Year is just round the corner – only THREE WEEKS AWAY! I can hardly believe that we are soon to enter 2015! Doesn’t time move swiftly? And, if you are looking for a quiet retreat to enjoy a few days’ break over the New Year period, why not make a booking at our place? You can be assured of a warm welcome!

At Blenheim Lodge, we are, as usual, including a FREE gift of handmade chocolate truffles in each of our bedrooms for Bed and Breakfast bookings of three or more nights whenever someone books directly with us by email, on the phone, or through our own website’s booking engine. Alternatively, guests can make a booking using the BOOK NOW link on this blog. Handmade to order, these freshly made chocolate truffles will literally be collected from the connoisseur chocolatier just days before New Year. Some of the flavours included within a cute ballotin of eight truffles are Whisky, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Rum, etc. I know they are yummy because I can eat a whole box of eight in one go!

A photo of The Dalesway room with its romantic antique Louis XV bed accompanies our boxes of handmade chocolate truffles.

At Blenheim Lodge, we have a number of late availability B&B vacancies. Our guest house in Bowness-on-Windermere is located on a fell – Brantfell – and we are situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park, with easy access to its many attractions and activities. One of the most popular attractions in the Lake District is Windermere Lake Cruises, with its main ferry point being located at Bowness Bay, only five minutes’ walk from Blenheim Lodge B&B. Windermere Lake Cruises will be open during the New Year period, with ferry links to Ambleside, a popular Lakeland town, and Lakeside, where there are an aquarium and a motor museum.

In fact, guests staying at our hilltop guest house in Bowness-on-Windermere can see the ferries cruising Lake Windermere, along with other watercraft. Book one of our rooms with Lake and fell views, or relax in the Lake-facing lounge at Blenheim Lodge and look out for the ferries and yachts that traverse Lake Windermere. Here are three photos of our guest house taken by two guests and an airbnb photographer: a view of Lake Windermere and the fells from The Attic room which can also be seen from a number of other bedrooms; The Fairfield bedroom; and the view from it.
