It’s Valentine’s Day weekend very very soon; and if you are still looking for a breakaway to someplace pretty and romantic, we do have last minute Valentine’s Day weekend late availability at Blenheim Lodge, our bed and breakfast guest house situated in the heart of the English Lake District National Park. Here are some details of the rooms we have for this weekend.
Romance with a French feel
Stay in my favourite room, The Dalesway. This room overlooks tranquil National Trust acres and has a peaceful ‘I’ve gotten away from it all’ feel’. Painted shabby chic French antiques complement the restful Laura Ashley decor in this bedroom. My three favourite pieces are the ornately hand-carved romantic rococo bed, the bergere daybed with its original 1890s paintwork, and a beautiful 1920s mirror set within an intricately carved frame.
‘A sweet cose, Valentine?’
The Poppies is a sweet little double room situated on the ground floor of our guest house with views to the north of Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond. I have fond memories of this room because it was the one my husband and I stayed in when we first visited Blenheim Lodge many moons ago. We have since refurbished the room with vintage and modern pieces that give character to this bijou room.
Romance on a cloud
We have been told often and often that our bespoke handmade bed in The Blue Room has just the most comfortable mattress – so comfortable that sleeping on it has been likened to ‘floating on a cloud’! Perhaps you might like to try it? The Blue Room is furnished with a handsome solid brass bed, sitting on which is a deep and luxurious bespoke pocket sprung mattress, just like all the other mattresses on our beds. However, I really like this expression that one guest used for sleeping on this bed, hence singling it out for the quote!
Lazing with my Valentine
If you want a room with views and a place to laze on where you can share those views with your heartthrob, then The Fairfield could be the one for you! Laze on the French antique daybed set in 8-feet wide triple floor to ceiling bay windows to admire far-reaching views of Lake Windermere and the Lakeland fells to the north and beyond. A separate 5-foot kingsize bed provides a comfortable bespoke pocket sprung mattress for a great night’s sleep.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of these pictures. Do contact us if we can help with bed and breakfast accommodation in Bowness on Windermere over this coming Valentine’s Day weekend. We are sure you will enjoy the beautiful Lake District. By the way, we have some Special Offers on at present which are not bookable online, so please feel free to phone or email us for details.
