HOW ARE YOU?
First of all, I just want to say, “How are you?” to everyone reading this post. It’s been a few rather difficult months for many people, and for some more so than for others. The world has been hit so hard by the arrival and continued sojourn of our most unwanted gatecrasher – the coronavirus! Our thoughts are with those innumerable individuals and families who have been left broken by the havoc that this virus has created in their lives. To lose a loved one, to never see that person again, to weep in memory and loss is a very hard sad thing indeed. Especially so is the pain of recalling how the person or persons you loved had to suffer so much before eventually succumbing to that eternal sleep. Our sympathies to all those who have suffered, continue to suffer, and who have had to play a match against this most invasive and unwelcome intruder.
Light at the end of the tunnel
There is light at the end of the tunnel, of course – or so we all trust and hope. There are many who have been ill and revived. Maybe they aren’t exactly up to full health yet, but they have pulled through – and individuals and nations have been thankful for that.
There are protocols that the wise and cautious have observed, learned, and implemented. New Zealand has shown the way. I have never been so glad to miss those members of my extended family who live there now. I know that they are safe! That’s what matters. The world as a whole is fighting hard against this virus, and I really hope that we will win through and crush it eventually. If governments would truly pay heed to the science and implement measures which are not half-hearted but sensible and transparent so that its populations will understand and respect them; if all of us would take care, and remember that we all have a part to play in keeping the virus at bay, then there surely will be light at the end of the tunnel. And not just a dim wavering light either, but a bright steady light too!

It is in light of that growing glow at the end of the tunnel that this Blog post addresses. We all need a holiday after all this to stretch our legs, our minds, and our horizons again. To leave our cares behind, even for that short little while when we may manage to shrug them off and look forward to peace and pulchritude right on our doorsteps. The Lake District is not short of either if you know where to look! And, of course, we have it right here at Blenheim Lodge.
Many of us will be feeling poorer for the effects of the conoravirus on our pockets. But, never fear! We are offering a few different DISCOUNT PACKAGES for a relaxing break at Blenheim Lodge, including MONEY OFF and FREE NIGHT STAY offers. Do take a look here: https://www.blenheim-lodge.com/packages-and-specials/. In our recent competition, we offered the chance to WIN two nights’ FREE B&B at Blenheim Lodge.
