Summer Solstice – as the days grow long

Today, 21st June 2019, marks the Summer Solstice in the United Kingdom. On this, the longest day of the year in the Lake District National Park, there are 16 hours and 38 minutes of daylight to enjoy all that the great outdoors has to offer! Come join in the fun!

The Lake District has much to offer – not least boundless acres of amazing scenery and landscapes that will thrill anyone who appreciates beauty and Nature lovers. There are jaw-dropping vistas of lakes, tarns, rivers, waterfalls, mountains, and fields, not forgetting also ancient structures such as Slater Bridge, peaceful hamlets and pretty villages with all that they have to offer the visitors who come and share this UNESCO World Heritage Site with us. So, do take advantage the longer days this Summer to explore, and make holiday memories of your own within this stunning region that we at Blenheim Lodge call home.

Nearby our guesthouse and family home are the famous Windermere Lake Cruises, which have been running continuously under various names and guises since 1845. Walk the 5-7 minutes’ jaunt from Blenheim Lodge to the Lake, and hop onto a ferry to enjoy many of the same picturesque views up close which you will also see from most of our bedrooms at Blenheim Lodge. Our Bowness Bed and Breakfast is one of the few places to stay in Bowness on Windermere offering stunning scenic outlooks upon Lake Windermere and the fells.
