I thought I would write a series of posts with images of Spring in the Lake District National Park. Personally, one of the best things I like about Spring is the new growth on trees and bushes. I love the lighter brighter greens of Spring because they look so fresh and dewy. I also enjoy seeing the sheep upon Brantfell behind our house. Having them there imparts such a warm pastoral feeling and really reminds me of how our guest house has a foot each in two camps: the quiet open fell countryside of the Lakes yet within 2-minutes’ easy walking proximity to Bowness town centre. It is just the best of both worlds!

The best of both worlds! The view from our porch at Blehheim Lodge: looking down from our elevated hilltop location on Brantfell upon Bowness centre and Lake Windermere, just 2-5 minutes' walk from our front door.

It is 2nd May and the farmer has quite literally just this afternoon put his sheep out to pasture in the fields and woodland at the back of our house. As you can see, we are enjoying a bright sunny day again in Bowness. I took this photo from The Dalesway bedroom at Blenheim Lodge, which overlooks Brantfell.

Just a couple of days ago, on 30th April, Tony Richards of lakelandcam.co.uk took this photo below of a beech tree ‘bursting into life’. What a wonderful image of the renewal of life and verve in Springtime!

On higher elevations, snow continues to grace fell tops. Contrast this with daffodils, one of the most quintessential harbingers of Spring.

Spring is a great time to visit the Lakes. Local attractions, activities, shops, and restaurants are open. The Lake District National Park is as usual always available at anytime for visitors to visit and wander at will. And, of course, the beauty of the Lakes is both inspirational and, some might add, unsurpassed!

This photo was shot from the Eyrie, our single guest room on the second floor of Blenheim Lodge. Here is one of the passing ferries that ply the Lake year in year out. Photo taken on 27th April.

To get aboard this ferry, simply walk the few minutes from Blenheim lodge to Bowness Pier and buy a ticket for your sail. Photo taken on 27th April.

Book DIRECT with us for a discounted Spring break to explore the Lakes. If you do not have any holiday time left from work, then, for a longer weekend stay, we still have availability for the Late May Bank Holiday long weekend at the end of the month.
