The Lake District is beautiful anytime of the year. Yes, like all other parts of the UK, we get all kinds of weather thrown at us, but this amazing landscape retains its innate splendour come rain or shine.

Beautiful Elterwater. This is one of my favourite lakes because it was the last one to which I walked - but never quite reached - with my Mum, who had mild to moderate Alzheimer's at that time, but who now has succumbed to severe Alzheimer's, so much so that she is unable to recognise me.
Beautiful Elterwater.

The Lakes is a great place to relax in, to explore and to indulge in some downtime. At Blenheim Lodge, conveniently located in central Bowness but blessedly situated away from main road traffic and crowds, guests will find our Bed and Breakfast a peaceful retreat for a rejuvenating weekend break.

Here is a picturesque take on one of the towns/villages I have mentioned in this paragraph. Isn't this a fantastic photo of Grasmere Lake? Two canoeists row in the still deep silence of a glassy lake which reflects the beauty of its surroundings. (Photo courtesy of www.cumbriaphoto.co.uk.)

Esthwaite Water, one of my favourite lakes, is only 20 minutes from Blenheim Lodge. Hubby goes there to fish and enjoy some peace and quiet on the water.
