March can be a month of contrasts weather-wise in Bowness-on-Windermere. It is a month of longer daylight hours, happy birdsong, sunshine, and mysterious inversions which draw the eye and capture the viewer’s attention. Our Bed and Breakfast, Blenheim Lodge, overlooks some amazingly stunning lake and fell views over Old Bowness, and we always feel so blessed to be able to see (and hear) Springtime as it approaches after the shorter days of Winter.
This March, we have mainly enjoyed wonderful sunshine thus far. For guests visiting our Lake District home, just take a look at what you can see from your room windows in March!

Guests might wonder which rooms offer the best Lake and fell views at our guest house. Well, most people would say The Langdale, Claife Heights, The Attic, The Eyrie, The Fairfield, and The Coniston. Of these, all are double rooms and one single room which are located at the front of our house bar The Fairfield, which is situated at the side of our house but which has magnificently large windows in order to give a good view of the Lake and fells. The views above can be seen from practically all our front-facing and north-lake facing rooms. Our north-lake facing double and single rooms are The Fairfield, The Poppies, The Blue Room, Brantfell and Belle Isle.
My favourite room overlooks the woodlands and fields of Brantfell. The Dalesway room has a country feel and overlooks lovely countryside.

If you like the thought of snoozing to the sound of silence, awaking to pretty birdsong, and enjoying the peace and tranquility of a tucked-away guest house that is only a 2-5-minute walk to local amenities and attractions, do come and stay with us for B&B accommodation. And, if you also love the idea of enjoying excellent views of Lake Windermere and the fells, with easy access to walks from our front door, please do not hesitate to contact us to book a stay. Ours is a friendly guest house where you will find a warm welcome. Check us out for late availability deals this March and other special offers throughout the year, and book direct to get the best rates.
