The Lake District is a great place for visiting year round. In February and March, with days lengthening perceptibly, might thoughts turn to exploring this beautiful part of the world? We are offering £10 off per night for stays of any two or more nights during February and March excluding Valentine’s and Easter weekends. BUT, these offers can only be redeemed by BOOKING DIRECT with Blenheim Lodge when contacting us either by email or telephone, the details of which are at the bottom of this post.

Bowness on Windermere, where our Bed and Breakfast is situated, is conveniently central for exploring this pulchritudinous National Park. Trains and coaches arrive into Windermere at Windermere Railway Station, approximately a mile from pretty Bowness, where visitors will find England’s largest lake, Windermere. A 15-minute walk or 5-minute cab will bring guests to our door at Blenheim Lodge. Of course, taking the bus necessitates climbing a hilly street up to us as well, so our suggestion is always to take a cab instead. Alternatively, if you are driving, we have a private on-site car park for our guests to use during their stay.

We love to make our visitors feel welcome at Blenheim Lodge B&B. Come and sup some tea or coffee with biscuits in our comfortable lounge when you arrive. Our lounge overlooks Lake Windermere and the fells, with some absolutely stunning views to accompany those moments of peace and relaxation when you get here. Feel free to ask for help with planning your stay whilst you are here (or even before you arrive). We will try to assist; and if we don’t know the answer, we will do our best to find it for you or point you in the direction of someone that might know. We work with a number of activity providers, and are happy to help arrange activities for you. And if you are planning something special or simply require assistance in reserving a table for dinner, you only need to ask. We want to make your stay with us SPECIAL!

Blenheim Lodge is tucked away atop Brant Fell, a pretty Lakeland fell with easy trails through lovely copses and open fields to panoramic and 360-degree viewpoints. Step out of our door and you will find The Dales Way long distance footpath behind our house. Follow this path as far as you wish or take turnings you might prefer to explore other hidden gems on this fell; to Biskey Howe and Post Knott viewpoints; or hike up to its summit, Brantfell. There is a pastural feel to this fell: from grazing sheep (and if you are lucky, you might even see newborn lambs in late Winter or Spring) to curious cows, and even shy wild deer. Along the way, you will find both benches and ancient stone seats built into drystone walls or grassy banks for walkers to rest upon.

The peaceful location of our guest house will feel a world away from the amenities and attractions of downtown village or small town life. However, just a 5-minute walk down Brantfell Road – on which Blenheim Lodge is located – will take guests staying at our Bowness Bed and Breakfast to the hustle and bustle of busy Bowness centre, with its many shops, numerous restaurants representing myriad cuisines, bistros, cafes, pubs, bars, cinema, salons and other amenities. Fans of Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit and Friends will find the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction a 5-minute or so hop, skip and jump from our front door. Lake Windermere, with its pleasure cruises and other boating and sailing activities, Promenade, shops and eateries, is an approximate 5-7 minutes walk from our Lodge. And, of course, there are also bus and ferry links from Bowness Bay to other parts of the Lake District.

So, if you are looking for a break in a place of peace, relaxation and beauty, why not come stay with us at Blenheim Lodge? The Lake District has some of the best scenery in the world, and we are blessed to enjoy some that scenery from our house. All our rooms have views of Lake and/or fells, so guests will have their own lovely views of the Lake District from their bedroom windows. If you are looking for a serene retreat, whether you are travelling alone or with someone else, do come and stay with us. And if you would like to find out more before you book, feel free to contact us without any obligation. We’d be delighted to welcome you.
This is the view at the back of our house. You can see Blenheim Lodge here, nestling into Brant Fell, with these trees further up the fell forming a backdrop to our home.
