Bowness basked in sunshine today, and as I sat in front of our lounge windows, I could not help but notice how blue Windermere’s waters were. It was a deep uncompromising blue much like the colour of the Lake seen in the two photos below. If one did not consider the temperatures today, one could have been forgiven for thinking that it is already Summertime.
Daylight did not fade today until well after 8 pm. Really, it feels odd that just a little more than a fortnight ago, there was snow on the ground, but now it truly feels like Spring. Incredible!
April is meant to be a time of showers – you know, the ‘April showers’ that are part and parcel of the English language. Thus far, we have yet to see them in Bowness-on-Windermere, and perhaps we might not see them at all. This has been a godsend for all those visitors that have been looking around this pretty village and exploring the rest of the Lake District.
It is to be hoped that this excellent weather will hold, so if anyone is looking for a break in the Lakes, April might just be the month to take it. Do check us out for late availability offers. After all, why not enjoy the good weather while you can?
