Have you every thought how nice it might be to make a breakaway as a couple? With just the two of you, you only need to consider the needs of each other as you gad about the Lake District. You can explore as much as you like, eat when you like, sleep when you like. And, you can be romantic!

Valentine’s Day is possibly one of the best opportunities to show off the romantic side of your nature. This year, in 2016, Valentine’s Day falls during a weekend: it is the perfect opportunity for you to whisk your beloved away on a romantic retreat – to spend some quality time together, to relax, love and laugh with each other, and show each other you care.

Celebrating Valentine’s weekend with a romantic escape need not break your budget. For example, with our Special Offer, guests can book a Valentine’s weekend break from as little as £53.50 per person per night for Bed and Breakfast at Blenheim Lodge, our AA 4-Star guest house in the heart of the Lake District National Park. If you wish us to organise extras for your break, a Cupid’s Bow single stemmed rose, beautifully gift-wrapped and personalised with you own message, can be ordered and waiting for your loved one in your room for only £15. Of course we can also organise other treats, such as champagne and chocolates. All our pretty rooms have views of Lake Windermere and/or the Lakeland fells.

The Fairfield is our largest bedroom at Blenheim Lodge, featuring views to the north of Lake Windermere and the fells as far as the eye can see. This room can sleep up to three people.

The Lake District is a perfect place for couples to enjoy and lose themselves in each other. Take a twosome walk alongside Lake Windermere. Enjoy a boat trip on one of the ferries which crisscross the lake.

Or explore the fells together. It does not need to be a huge hike if you prefer to go for a gentle stroll. There is lots of choice for all sorts of trekking abilities or none.

There are large villages and small towns where you can get that special gift for your special someone; and where quaint cafes and fabulous restaurants offer a resting place to stop for tea and scones, a small repast, or that 3-course meal.

Do you prefer indoor activities or attractions? Is either of you interested in history or historical homes and estates? Why not visit Blackwell House, located only a mere mile from our front door, or William Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage? Dove Cottage is located in Grasmere, famed for its tasty gingerbread.
