As we enter early October, the colours of our Lakeland foliage are definitely a-turning. Looking out of our kitchen window this morning as I washed up after breakfast, I noticed touches of yellow, red, and orange in the woods.

The Dalesway is my favourite bedroom as it has those lovely serene views of fields and woodlands seen above and below. When the sun shines in the woods, it seems to me that there is a magical quality.

When the sun shines in the woods and fields that form the backdrop to our guest house, Blenheim Lodge, one can almost imagine fairies playing amongst the greenery.

Meantime, more of the Lake District is beginning to demonstrate with a flourish the onset of autumn colours.

Lastly, here are some autumn colours decorating a cottage at Sand Ground.
