My daughter, mother, dad, and I ended a four-week trip travelling around England at the Lake District and were looking for a relaxing place to stay. We could not have chosen better. I found Blenheim Lodge's website and it clearly showed with pictures and information exactly what they had to offer. Further, they responded immediately to my inquiry and sent numerous emails back and forth as I selected which rooms we wanted; they went above and beyond by explaining how to fetch a taxi from the RR station, etc. And we were not disappointed once we arrived.
Janz and Robert are the nicest people you could meet. We got there after dark in the rain and they kindly got tea for us in their sitting room! Our rooms were ready and neat. Breakfast next morning was yummy and made to order (nice for me, especially, since I could select an entirely vegetarian meal).
We had lovely rooms: my daughter's and mine overlooked the park while my parents' room, The Fairfield, was especially nice in having a lovely view of the Lake from the window seat. My mom spent much of her time sitting there reading and looking out over the town and the Lake. We used the sitting room many nights to play games - it was so nice to have that space to spread out in after being cooped up in hotel rooms throughout our trip.
Janz talked to us all the time, helping us find tourist spots and in other ways making sure we had a good stay. In fact, we said many times that having Janz and Robert as our hosts was the best way to end our trip because they truly made us feel at home and as if we were part of the family. Nestled up the street from the main shopping district of Bowness and next to the park, this is the best spot for a guest house. We encourage everyone to stay here. We'll definitely be back!
